Feeling Stuck?

You dream of moving to a new country for personal growth and fulfillment, but fears of the unknown and leaving your comfort zone hold you back.

"My job won’t allow me to move abroad."

"I don't have enough money saved up."

"I don't want to uproot my family."

"Don’t be afraid to start over. It gives you a chance to build something better."

If you’ve been thinking about moving abroad for a year or more and nothing has happened yet,

it's time to get started.

About me

My name is Lauren McDonnell. My family and I live in the Netherlands after moving from the US. I also lived in Canada for a year when I was in my 30s.

A couple of years ago, you could have looked at my life on paper, and I was literally living a life that most people would look at and say, wow, she has it all. Married, with 3 kids, a big house, nice car, vacations, a big job with a fancy title.

And even with all of that, I still felt unfulfilled, like it still wasn’t what I truly wanted deep down. I was depressed and anxious, relying on medication, and I wasn’t taking care of myself. I felt stuck and was isolating myself.

And thankfully I was able to find my way out. With a lot of work on myself, prioritizing how I communicated what I wanted and needed out of life, and taking a leap by moving our family from the US to the Netherlands.

We have a wonderful community around us, are learning a new language, are getting to travel all over Europe and experience different cultures, and are becoming global citizens.

Now, I’ve created She Thrives Abroad to help other women do exactly the same thing - Move abroad and live the life of their dreams.

What others are saying

"What would we do without Lauren?"

Her personalized help and knowledge alone has been priceless. In addition, she and her team are supportive, kind, and easy to talk to. Our personal situation has not been a simple one, but we've had attentive and compassionate support throughout (even when we have had to go back to the drawing board a few times and change tact). We cannot speak more highly of She Thrives Abroad- Lauren and her team are absolutely invaluable to our process and peace of mind as we go jump through the complicated hoops of moving abroad.

"Lauren helped me find CLARITY"

I worked with Lauren in Relocation Roadmap for about 10 months, and it was a phenomenal investment in finding support for my dream to move to the EU. And not just support, but PERSONALIZED support, specific to my unique situation, goals and skillsets. Lauren helped me find CLARITY in the key decisions I needed to make to have this take shape, and the steps needed to make a move of this caliber and go from dreamer to doer!

She distills the process down into actionable steps and guides you through the process to make it manageable. I would not be doing this without Lauren's guidance, support, and know how.
